How to get around Valais.

Valais is very well connected with a multitude of sustainable transport options to get to all the competition sites. We want the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships to be as sustainable as possible. Cycling and public transport are excellent ways of getting to the various competition venues. Travel by train or bus, and admire the Valais countryside in complete peace and quiet. By Postbus, cable car or funicular, the many connections make it easy and comfortable to reach the various destinations in Valais.

By bike

If you are travelling locally, cycling can be the easiest way to get to the championships. Signposted cycle paths, grandiose pass roads and climbs to the side valleys will take you to the various competition venues in the Valais. Find out more information on cycle routes on Valais.ch.

Combine with the bus transportation. Resabike is your key to exploring the side valleys of Valais by bike. From mid-May to mid-October, over 55 bus routes are available, all equipped with bike racks or trailers to facilitate your journey. Getting to Switzerland.

Wherever you are coming from, there are lots of travel options to get here. Switzerland is well connected to the rest of Europe and further afield. Getting to Switzerland by train is easy with services from all across Europe including direct services from France, Italy, Germany and many other locations. Switzerland has three international airports with national and international flights daily.

Camping and camper vanning in Switzerland.

Please be aware that there is no provision for camping, caravanning and camper vanning in the areas surrounding venues. Please book a pitch on one of the many commercial campgrounds near venues and make use of public transport provision. Do not park on access roads, laybys or verges surrounding venues. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed. If you are planning to 
camp or campervan during your trip, please remember to book your camping 
space in advance.
