After hosting the Swiss Mountain Bike Championships in 2023 and a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2024, Crans-Montana is positioning itself as a hot spot for cross country cycling.
The course links the centre of Crans-Montana to Lake Chermignon and represents a real technical and physical challenge for competitors, as well as offering breathtaking views for spectators. There will be plenty of entertainment and festivities to round off the World Championships in the best possible way.
The Olympic Cross-Country (XCO) is the only mountain biking discipline present at the Olympic Games. The races take place on 4.4 km tracks, with an elevation gain of 110 meters per lap. Athletes must complete 8 laps, covering a total distance of 35.2 km.The courses are designed to test riders' climbing and descending skills, featuring technical sections and varied terrain. The races typically last between 1h20 and 1h30 for elite men, and between 1h15 and 1h45 for elite women.
